Stichting Kleine Lettertjes

Sinds 2017 brengt Stichting Kleine Lettertjes prachtige kinderboeken tot leven voor kinderen van 4 tot 10 jaar. They create programs that ignite children’s curiosity for beautiful children’s books through theatrical and sensory experiences, interactive storytelling sessions, and creative workshops. Drawing inspiration from imaginative illustrations, diverse topics, and unique narrative styles found in books, they encourage children to create drawings, poems, crafts, plays, songs, and structures. With their distinctive and creative programs, they aim to foster a positive association with books and reading for children.

Stichting Kleine Lettertjes believe that experiencing the joy of reading outside of a school environment is essential to positively influence children’s reading habits. Since the establishment of the foundation, they have been developing and organizing children’s book activities specifically designed for children to enjoy in their leisure time.

One of their activities is Het Mooie Kinderboekenfestival (The Beautiful Children’s Books Festival). During the festival, parents and children embark on a journey of discovery through theatrical performances and workshops inspired by wonderful children’s books.

In addition to the festival, they offer Mooie Kinderboekenfeestjes (Beautiful Children’s Book Parties). These educational packages allow intermediaries from community centers, playground associations, theaters, cultural institutions, after-school programs, and libraries to organize book-related activities with minimal preparation or prior knowledge. They pay extra attention to involving locations and institutions where children’s books are rarely or never utilized.

“We are immensely grateful to the Lerak Foundation for the support we have received. It is thanks in part to the Foundation that we have been able to expand our activities and achieve a higher level of professionalism. As a result, even more children can have the opportunity to discover the wonderful stories that books have to offer.”
